ALL THINGS CAN BE MADE NEW

RENEW: to make new, fresh, or strong again; to restore to existence; to begin again.

There comes a time when help is needed from a mental health professional to cope with many of life’s challenges.

At Renewed Counseling & Play Therapy, children, adolescents, parents, and adults receive the ongoing support they need to be renewed.

COVID-19: We offer in-person or telehealth sessions. The office is thoroughly sterilized before and after each in-person client. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

AMY R. WORK, LCMHC, RPT

I believe that every individual has inherent value, and that life is to be fully experienced and enjoyed. Too often, the stresses and traumas of life prevent us from stepping into who we really want to be.  It's my passion to come alongside kids, teens, and adults, and support them in the journey towards peace and health.

My therapeutic approach begins from a client-centered perspective, which addresses the unique needs of each person. From there, I primarily work from a cognitive-behavioral framework which asserts that identifying and changing harmful thought patterns can lead to reduced emotional distress and a more satisfying life. I am also trained to incorporate EMDR, DBT Skills, and Sand Tray Therapy as needed. In working with children, I use Child-Centered Play Therapy to help children process trauma, express and regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop social skills.  We will work together to design a treatment plan that is right for you. Click here to learn more about the clinical issues I address.

The letters after my name (above) stand for Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I hold a Masters Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.  I also earned Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from The University of Georgia, as well as a minor in Child and Family Development. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy, and I continuously pursue up-to-date training on evidence-based mental health treatments.

Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked as a high school teacher and enjoyed adapting my classroom for students with specific behavioral, emotional, or academic needs. Additionally I served as the Elementary Children's Director at my church.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, running, trying new recipes, drinking coffee, and all things Harry Potter.

CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH INTERNS

Renewed Counseling & Play Therapy is pleased to offer reduced fee services to clients through our Clinical Mental Health Internship Program. Our interns are currently pursuing their Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and are trained to offer high-quality and evidence-based care. Because they are not yet licensed, they offer counseling sessions at a reduced fee of $30. All interns are supervised directly by Amy R. Work, LCMHC, RPT. LYNDSEY ANDLER

I have a passion for empowering others and helping them find hope no matter the depth of their struggle. I believe counseling is a sacred place where people can feel seen, listened to, and truly heard. I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance, where clients feel free to explore the changes they want to make, identify barriers to change, and develop strategies to overcome those barriers through an integrative approach.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, behavioral difficulties, and faith related issues. I approach counseling from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral framework by encouraging clients to explore emotions, build up their strengths, and develop new emotional and relational skills.

Prior to pursuing counseling, I earned my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and did advocacy work for the Area Agency on Aging. I have completed two clinical counseling rotations, and this is my last rotation prior to graduating with my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in October of 2022.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, playing the piano, cooking, and all things coffee.

LAURA FUSAIOTTI

I am passionate about creating space for clients to explore their current circumstances and past experiences as they seek stability in their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. My focus is on developing self-awareness, clear communication and trust in the therapeutic relationship. I am excited to walk alongside you on your journey of healing.

I have experience working with children and adults facing trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral difficulties. This will be my second rotation of three before graduating with my Masters degree in Spring of 2023.

Prior to pursuing counseling, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Accounting, and worked in banking. My husband and I also co-founded Hands for Hearts, a non-profit that raises money to treat patients with congenital heart defects.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, reading, and traveling.
